Our fireboxes are cold and our engines are roundhoused for the winter. The 2010 public run season starts late in May when our Steam, Diesel, and Electric powered trains will once again transport you through the woods from "Southold" to "Jamaica" Station. To join us on our next Public Run Day, check back for our published schedule, available here soon.

Paul Schiller, of the Long Island Metal Workers writes, "The smell of burning coal, the sight of steam clouds, the sound of laughter, and the feel of wind on your face. This was the order of the day on Saturday August 1st as the Long Island Live Steamers hosted affiliated groups, including our own LIMWS, at their unique facility in Southaven County Park. The Live Steamer's are now in their 43rd year. Everywhere one looked, the passion they have for their hobby was prominently on display. As metalworkers we have a unique insight and appreciation for the skill and dedication it took for them to create these fantastic, improbable, and captivating machines. It was a pure joy to be in the company of so many people with such obvious pride in what they do. One leaves at the end of the day with a renewed enthusiasm to go and make some chips of your own."

Our Pubic Run days are usually scheduled for the second and last Sundays of the month from May through October.
